Haitian made for Haiti

Plastic bottles and bags clutter the streets and canals of Haiti. Some recyclers are trying to solve this ecology disaster. Scale Designs is working with them to provide necessary equipment. Importing low cost, heavy duty scales and compactors is not practical because after freight and duty costs are factored into the equation one or both are sacrificed. The only logical solution is to build the products in Haiti.

Scale Designs designed products that are built for Haiti in Haiti. Haiti has a willing work force, Scale Designs has the design and manufacturing expertise and Jude Celestin allowed us to use his factory and equipment to build these scales and compactors for Haiti. We offer our heartfelt thanks to Jude. We are working together to improve the quality of life for all Haitians.

This recycle scale was designed with specific characteristics to achieve desired results for Haitian requirements. The indicator is located under the base in a position so it can easily be read while limiting exposure to damage, There are no cables extending from the scale unit as it is powered with 4 AA batteries which can be disposable or rechargeable. We supply rechargeable batteries to reduce battery clutter. The stainless steel cover is easily removable for service if the need arises.

Be on the watch for our rack and pinion compactor which will eliminate the hauling of air rather than material to the main distribution points where the plastic is bailed to be shipped to recyclers around the world.

We are also in the process of designing a shredder that will give recyclers the ability to recycle the plastic bags that clutter the streets and canals. This is on Scale Designs’ and American Technology's most wanted list. We have to solve the problem. The water and dirt trapped in the bags makes it impractical for the recycle specialist to purchase. We are working to resolve that issue. It is a must!

The recycle scale is pictured below. Specifications are available. If you have questions the Kreyol number is 509-3679-2802..
